Since I've been having computer problems, I missed last week, so let's catch up on the last two weeks, shall we?
TRAINING:
At Elite Dragon Martial Arts, we've moved into our next level of material, which means we've started learning our first form, Anyo Isa, as well as what my teacher calls "defensive response #1", aka "same side block and strike". The class is progressing really well and I'm very happy with the progress, especially given we only meet once a week.
At the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, we've been all over the place, based on who's in class. We've been doing a lot of knife stuff there lately, which is always fun. If you're in the area, come visit!
Last weekend was our second Heartland Arnis Players Alliance gathering (HAPA 2), this time out at Sagasu Martial Arts in Leavenworth, KS. VERY fun time, with a lot of varied and interesting material (including some drills from Krabi Krabong, which was neat). Mr. Chick was one of the instructors and I'm super-proud of him.
If you're not a Facebook person, you can keep up on HAPA events via the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup page (see link above). I post Elite Dragon, HAPA events, as well as other events of interest to us on the Meetup.

OTHER FUN STUFF:
I created this, and I'm really proud of it.
I also made this one because yes, I do need a new knife.
Since I had computer problems last week (and they're not 100% solved yet), you really should just go check out my Facebook page - lots of good stuff over there these past two weeks.
FRIDAY THOUGHTS:
We're planning some geek-out Arnis time this weekend with our friend Harley Weibling on Sunday, so I'm really looking forward to Sunday.
Y'all stay safe, have fun, and keep training!
