My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 03/05/21
Here we go!
Staff stuff continues at the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup and at Elite Dragon Martial Arts Presas Arnis Class.
We have finally made it to the last angle in our staff set, with feeds and with defenses at the Meetup. It's a lot to do, and now that we're there, we'll be practicing those as well as adding in a few staff sumbrada patterns.
At Elite Dragon, we're a week behind the Meetup (thanks to weather earlier in February, as I mentioned last week), but we're catching up! We're almost to the end of the staff set angles, and then we'll catch up to the Meetup with staff sumbrada there, too.
Just a few more weeks of staff-focus, then we'll get back to normal curriculum with a little staff stuff each class (but just a little).
Surgeon evaluation of my shoulder got pushed to next week, but I got officially cleared by my hip surgeon and I no longer have any physical restrictions. W00t!
Tuesday: Five Things I Absolutely Hate About Being a Martial Artist
Wednesday: The Hump
Thursday: More on Strike Mechanics
Come join us on our MeWe page, on Tumblr and Pinterest! There is a Facebook page, but I'm no longer updating it.
COME TRAIN WITH ME!
If you're in the Kansas City metro area, on Sunday we have the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, and on Monday we have Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts (at the GAGE Center in Blue Springs). Drop in and say "hi"!
I am participating in this world-wide virtual training event sponsored by the Deutscher Arnis Verband e.V. (DAV). Come join us!
Women of the martial arts! Come join these awesome people at the Partnership of Women Martial Artists symposium in Dallas in May (and yeah, I'm working on attending myself!)
I'm working hard to attend this, too, and so can you!
I'm going to see my mom for the first time in over a year this weekend (thanks COVID), so I won't be in our Sunday Meetup class. My physical therapist thinks it's a good thing to take a little break anyway.
Y'all stay safe, have fun, and keep training.
