My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 12/18/20

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

TRAINING:

At the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, we're working on interrupts and punyo entries in flow.

This is a key skill when playing tapi-tapi, which is the longer-term goal we're aiming for.

So that's a lot of work in timing, and footwork, and targeting. All meaty, fundamental stuff, and we're having fun in class for sure.

At Elite Dragon, we're sort of heading in the same direction, but we're a few weeks behind the Meetup in playing Sumbrada and working interrupts there.

Eventually, both sessions will be in similar material for some time to come. Fun!

BLOGGERY:

Tuesday: It's a Thing, but not THE Thing

Wednesday: It's All the Same

Thursday: What's My Motivation?

If you like what you read here, can you please subscribe to this blog? You can do so at the bottom of the page. I'm not sending out email yet but that's one thing that's coming as I adjust my social media presence in 2021.

MeWe is the new social media home base for the Stick Chick Blog. I am still updating Facebook and Instagram for the next two weeks, and then after that... no more. So, find, like, follow us on:

  • The Stick Chick Blog on MeWe (page, group)

  • The Stick Chick on Tumblr

  • My Personal Twitter (where I talk martial arts and the Kansas City Chiefs)

I will still be on Facebook to maintain martial arts and friends/family connections, but I will not be actively posting there as I am on MeWe.

It's gifting season, so why not deck out your favorite martial arts buddy with Stick Chick Blog gear? SHOP HERE

OTHER FUN STUFF:

They're mat shoes, I promise!

This might be my favorite web comic out there...

FRIDAY THOUGHTS:

We're heading into the the peak of holiday season and we're getting locked down in a lot of places, so a lot of formal training will be on hiatus. I highly recommend you keep training as much as you can, ok?

If you're in KC, there's no break for the Meetup, so you're welcome to join us.

Stay safe, have fun, keep training, and a very Blessed Yule to all of you.
