My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 12/13/19

Due to last week's anniversary post, I didn't do a wrap-up, so this is two weeks of stuff!

TRAINING

Both of our Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup sessions - on Sunday December 1 and Sunday December 8 - were awesome.

December 1 we worked on Defensive Response applications using everything from double sticks to empty hand and everything in-between. WE also talked about the similarity of nunchaku and Arnis training.

December 8 was particularly fun because we had a very large turnout (for us) and so we decided to play with some advanced material. We had a mix of people there (very experienced to newbie) and they all kept up with it, and that was so awesome.

At our Elite Dragon Presas Arnis class, we worked on applications of Anyo Isa (stick form 1) and then on December 9 we broke out the Action Flex sticks and worked on impact disarm concepts. Very fun and productive!

Come train with me (and a lot of really awesome teachers) in January in Tampa, FL! I'm one of several awesome instructors at the Women's Martial Arts Symposium.

OTHER FUN STUFF:

Sorry not sorry.

Maybe learn to block, Candace.

A reader pointed out they're not mutually exclusive, and that's true, but it's still funny.

I STARTED A BLOG TO TALK MORE ABOUT IT.

FRIDAY THOUGHTS

I won't be at the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup this week as I am going to watch my beloved Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos live and in person. We might get our first big snow Sunday night, so I'm in a good mood.

Y'all stay safe, have fun, and keep training!
