My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 07/17/20

I haven't done one of these in a few weeks, so let's get to it, y'all!

TRAINING:

We are having live sessions with social distancing protocols (and masks when required, although we encourage participants to wear masks even if it's not required) for the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup and the Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts.

We also are supporting one of our Meetup students long-distance via virtual Meetups with her.

All of these have been going really well. I think people are really happy when they can do more than sit around the house, even if it's difficult to maintain distance or wear a mask when necessary.

However, we're prepared to go back to virtual if we have to. It's not required just yet, but we can turn on a dime if we must.

My teacher came to town and we spent four days on intensive training with him. We got really nerdy and technical and WOW was that fun. I will be mining that session for content here on the blog for quite some time.

Finally, it hasn't been formally announced yet but... something happened for me & Mr. Chick. I'll give you a hint.

BLOGGERY:

I'm not going to summarize the last few weeks. Posts were sporadic and the only new posts were this week. This section will return to normal next week.

You can see what I posted on my social media channels. Check out the Stick Chick Blog at MeWe, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram. There's some Stick Chick Blog gear, if you wanna be super-stylish. SHOP HERE

OTHER FUN STUFF:

I was really only online very sporadically during the past few weeks, so I don't have as much to go here as I'd like.

2020 has apparently given us a bear with nunchucks.

I've seen worse.

I made this meme image myself, and I'm kinda proud of it. It's based on my personal experience of having to explain that yes, FMA's are a thing to highly experienced karateka or taekwondo....ers? What's the term for someone who does TKD?

FRIDAY THOUGHTS I explained in THIS post that it's been a rough few weeks, both good and bad. But I am thinking that surely things can get back to "normal" (-ish, because until the virus is gone or we can deal with it or whatever, this isn't normal).

This weekend I plan to train and do some practicing on some new goals of mine. I hope you're able to train and do it safely. Y'all have fun.
