It's warming up around here, so let's get to it.
TRAINING:
In the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, we're deep into working with staff material now. Still using the Modern Arnis 12 Angles of Attack as a template, we're working through the staff version of those angles with an attack/defense drill (not quite block-check-counter yet).
We're about a week behind on this stuff in the Elite Dragon class, mainly due to weather closures, but things should be clear sailing from here on out, weather-wise.
As I mentioned last week, my plan is to stay in this material pretty heavily through March, then I'll probably scale back and just do some staff as a part of class vs. all of class.
Younger Daughter tested for her Shotokan Karate yellow belt at Elite Dragon this week. This is her, breaking a board at the end of the test.
I love being a martial arts mom almost as much as being a martial artist!
I'll be seeing the surgeon on a follow-up for my shoulder next week. There's been some progress but in other areas, not so much...
BLOGGERY:

COME TRAIN WITH ME!
If you're in the Kansas City metro area, on Sunday we have the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, and on Monday we have Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts (at the GAGE Center in Blue Springs). Drop in and say "hi"!
I am participating in this world-wide virtual training event sponsored by the Deutscher Arnis Verband e.V. (DAV). Come join us!
Women of the martial arts! Come join these awesome people at the Partnership of Women Martial Artists symposium in Dallas in May (and yeah, I'm working on attending myself!)
I'm working hard to attend this, too, and so can you!
FRIDAY THOUGHTS:
Man, this year is shaping up to be a lot better than last year, training-wise, and I'm so glad for that!
Y'all stay safe, have fun, and train hard!
