My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 01/29/21
Here we go!
In the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, in the Presas Arnis session, we're continuing to work on two-vs-one stick drills, with inserts (punyo and pokes), and emphasizing using both left and right hands (for passengers and for drivers).
On Monday night's Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon, we evaluated some of the students on a lot of different things - anyos, block-check-counter, and other material - with the idea of promoting folks to new ranks.
When I get back from Progressive Arnis Winter Camp, we'll cover the material I learned at that camp for the next few weeks in both programs. I am SO EXCITED about that.
I also started physical therapy on my shoulder this week!
Tuesday: 5 Tips for Martial Arts Newbies (over 40)
Wednesday: Will You Teach Me Arnis? A (Weird) True Martial Arts Story
Thursday: Lost in Translation
My pages on Facebook and Instagram are still there but not being updated. Our MeWe page is the new home of TSC online, but I also update on Tumblr and Pinterest. Come join us on those social media channels, will ya?
My MeWe page is as good as the old Facebook page, with the added bonus that if you follow me there, you'll actually SEE IT IN YOUR FEED if you are seeing "All" or "Pages". MeWe doesn't decide for you what you should see, and as a bonus - NO ADS!
Physical therapy is kicking my ass in a good way, so I'm happy I am making progress, finally. My goal in 2021 is a simple one - regain the strength in my left leg/hip/knee and my right shoulder. Simple, but not easy.
Oh, and our local professional American football team is going to the league championship. For the second year in a row.
I won't be running a "Stick Chicktivity" post next Friday as I will be on a plane to Florida, so I'll do a double-update the week after that.
See you guys in two weeks. Stay safe, have fun, and keep training!
