My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 04/17/20

Looking at least another month of this stuff, y'all.

Sigh.

TRAINING

Still running virtual classes.

For the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, on Sundays we have two sessions (one morning, one evening) and a session on Wednesday nights.

We've been covering drills that folks can do at home (obviously) and this week we worked on espada y daga drills that come from Kombatan. The fun thing about these drills is that you can do a lot with them outside of just stick-and-dagger. We're talking about those in the Meetup as well as covering the drills. FUN subject.

At Elite Dragon Martial arts on Mondays, we have class via Facebook Live. We've been reviewing every bit of material we can from the first two levels of material, fine tuning and going over details. By the time we get out of this quarantine, we'll be moving on to the next level (we would have by now anyway!).

BLOGGERY:

Monday: Violence and Virtue Signaling

Tuesday: Pondering Promotions

Wednesday: The Safety Dance

Thursday: A Hero for our Times: The Films (and Fight Scenes) of Cüneyt Arkin

OTHER FUN STUFF:

I know, I know, I posted this during the pandemic, but truth is truth. And y'all seemed to like this one!

Ok, so this rings true for me on several levels. We are teaching our Zoom classes out of our basement garage, and the ceiling is low. It's even low for our normal length sticks, so we're using the shorter 26 inch sticks instead of our normal 28 inch!

Ok, so for those of you who don't know what those are... nunti and sansetsukon.

FRIDAY THOUGHTS:

I started off with "Ugh another month of this".

That's all I got.

Y'all stay safe, happy, and train as best you can.
