A Hero For Our Times: The Films (and Fight Scenes) of Cuneyt Arkin

These are hard times.

And in hard times, we need a hero.

Enter Turkish action star, Fahrettin Cüreklibatır, better known by his stage name, Cüneyt Arkin, or in the west, George Arkin. His last movie role was in 2014 according to IMDB, so this fine gentleman is apparently still alive and presumably kicking things (see below) as of April, 2020.

Arkin is mostly known in martial arts circles when excerpts of his awesome fight scenes from a lot of his movies occasionally make the rounds. He's probably best know overall in the west for starring in that classic of cinema, "Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam", aka "Turkish Star Wars" (learn more about that movie in this short video HERE).

He ROCKS.

Today, let's just take a moment, sit back, watch these awesome fight scenes, and enjoy.

This fight makes the rounds often in martial arts circles, and you can absolutely see why. If you haven't seen the whole scene you've definitely seen a gif of it:

Versus FAKE CHUCK NORRIS:

Not the best quality in the world but BE PATIENT because it pays off:

This awesome training montage from the aforementioned "Turkish Star Wars":

Compilation of many of his fight scenes:

Another because his awesomeness is too awesome to contain in a single video:

I could watch these all day long, y'all.
