My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 11/02/18

It's Friday, and it's November!

Fall is my favorite season of the year, folks, so I'm loving life right now!

How are things for you in your neck of the woods?

TRAINING

We worked on fine-tuning sumbrada (aka 3-8-12 or the "six count drill" or the "six count box drill" to some) at the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup. We finished off the session with disarms off of forehands.

I got in a lot of making up for lost time at Karate on Monday, but it being Halloween on Wednesday, we skipped class and took Younger Daughter trick-or-treating as well. I've been working on my empty hand forms daily in order to get better at them - not my favorite thing to do but it's really important I understand the material.

Oh, and Halloween was my 28th wedding anniversary, too.

No new pics of me this week (again) so here's one from the Meetup a few weeks ago.

BLOGGERY

Now we're back in the swing of things!

You can't escape the Stick Chick Blog! Find me on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and MeWe, and hey, I've got a Pinterest board, and I post on Google Plus too!

Note: ANY links to the old blog published before 10/10/18 that you run across online are now broken. They're as dead as a 2018 Oakland Raider fan's playoff dreams.

OTHER NEATO BURRITO STUFF

I'm sure that Chuck Norris is sick of these jokes. But I'm not!

Another great post from The Modern Kunoichi, riffing off of a little sumpin-sumpin' I wrote here last week: There’s More Than Meets the Eye: A Look at the Hidden Features of Martial Arts Training

Of course, Master Ken got in on the Halloween goodness:

FRIDAY THOUGHTS

My beloved Kansas City Chiefs won yet again, and now we're 7-1, still first seed in our conference and #2 overall in the league. I was at the game again on Sunday and had an amazing time.

We have the Meetup this weekend, so if you're in the area, come on by!

Train hard and have fun, everyone!
