Leaves changing colors, Halloween decorations out, a nip in the air... mmmm boy!
TRAINING:
I'm gonna start with the shoulder thing before I get into what I did this week, because... well... you'll see.
As I mentioned last time, Doc gave me a steroid shot and a gel to use to help with the tendinitis in my biceps and told me to wait a week. I was annoyed.
By Saturday... I was markedly better. I mean nearly pain free better.
So I taught the session at the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup to test it a bit, and while I had a little pain, it was nothing compared to what it used to be.
Then I taught Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts on Monday and it felt REALLY good. Got to bang sticks more than I have in the past three months or so, and it was awesome.
I am ONE HAPPY CAMPER right now. I'm not going full-steam 110%, because the underlying inflammation has to heal, but MAN! Life is good.
BLOGGERY:
Monday: In Defense of Violence
Tuesday: The Big Surprise
Wednesday: STOOPID WINDOWS UPDATE!
Thursday: The German Modern Arnis Experience
Speaking of Germans and Modern Arnis, my teacher Mark Lynn in Texas is hosting Datu Dieter Knüttel this weekend and if you're in the area GO. You won't regret it. Details HERE.
I am REALLY REALLY bummed I'm not there to see Datu and all sort of awesome people I just love to bang sticks with. Really, it's chock full of friends I haven't seen in a while. 😢
OTHER FUN STUFF:
Yeah, so when I can't update the blog as planned, y'all get to see stuff like this:
Is that a regulation #2 pencil?
Via the Bladed Broad on Facebook (and applies to axes, knives, darts, throwing stars...)
FRIDAY THOUGHTS:
JUST THIS WEEKEND. But... yeah.
Y'all be good, train hard, have fun.
