It's still hot here in Kansas City, but the weatherman says not for much longer. Let's get into this!
TRAINING:
At the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup on Sunday, we worked on the alternating hands principle, using brush-grab-strike and double sinawali as our training template. Very fun!
At Elite Dragon Martial Arts Presas Arnis class on Monday, we reviewed some basics we've been learning. I want them solid on the footwork, 12 angles of attack, and feeding drill before I introduce our 6-count blocking drill. That drill will be the end of Level 1 material and I'll be able to promote most of our students to Level 2 some time next month.
As for my shoulder... I finally got that MRI this week and it is a good news-bad news situation.
The good news is that I do not have a torn rotator cuff.
The bad news is that it looks like I have a torn labrum. Not sure what this means yet, but my doc is referring me to an orthopedist for next steps. Still taking it super easy because even a minute or two of use is becoming too much.
I'll keep y'all updated.

OTHER FUN STUFF:
That's twice I used a meme featuring Dr. Evil this week. Funnily enough, this image was planned to post months ago. Going by comments on the Facebook page, this is pretty common.
Mr. Chick made this on our Kindred Protective Arts Facebook page. If you do Facebook, please do click on that second link there and give us a like, will ya? Thanks.
FRIDAY THOUGHTS:
My beloved Kansas City Chiefs are still undefeated. We play in Detroit this week. GO CHIEFS!
There is an awesome seminar in our area this weekend - Luzviminda Arnis Seminar with Ricky Lazo - and I can't participate because of the shoulder thing. I'll stay home with Younger Daughter and mope a bit.
Hope YOU have a better weekend than I'm going to have.
Stay safe, have fun, train hard.
