My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 04/24/20
Today marks the end of week 6 in lockdown.
We've been playing with espada y daga (stick and knife - yes, I know what "espada" means) drills in the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup on Sundays lately.
Wednesday night we talked about books students should look into (I'll put up a post about this soon) and taught the "x-pattern" sinawali, talking about all the little details our students are expected to think about while doing this flow drill.
In the Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts, I've decided we're moving on to new rank level material, so I taught them Defensive Response 2 and 3 (they're only expected to know the first one). By now, we would have had a rank test and promotion, so I'm just going to go ahead and keep moving. I'll sort out ranks and testing and whatnot when this is over.
Monday: none, didn't get my act together in time
Tuesday: Filipino Martial Arts: Why We Don't Make The List
Wednesday: Training in the Time of COVID-19 Pt. 4
Thursday: The Best Martial Arts Movie Ever

OTHER FUN STUFF
Heck, people showing up to Zoom classes is about the only way I get to see friends any more...
We're getting to the point where martial arts plans I've made for the end of summer and fall need to be finalized or canceled. I'm so happy that I'm getting to make those decisions again and contemplating how much is not going to happen.
Y'all please keep safe and healthy, keep training, and have FUN!
