My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 3/27/20

Tough times, y'all. Tough times.

TRAINING

Teaching virtual sessions seems to be going okay for now for the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup and the Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts.

In the Meetup, we covered the "classical strikes" - ocho-ocho, banda y banda, up & down, rompida, sungkiti and abaniko - on Sunday, and on Wednesday, we reviewed our 8 count feeding pattern and Defensive Response #1.

At Elite Dragon, we worked on stick exchange drills. I don't believe switching the stick from one hand to another is some sort of magic bullet, but it is helpful sometimes, and the drills really help our students with being comfortable with manipulating the weapon.

FRIDAY THOUGHTS

Trying to keep a positive attitude but I'll be honest, y'all, it's getting harder. I had to cancel my April training trip to camp in Texas and that was not fun.

Y'all keep safe and healthy, keep training, and have as much fun as you can!
