I didn't update last week, so I'll cover two weeks' worth of stuff (and it isn't much from last week, as you'll see shortly).
Today is Winter Solstice, and Christmas Day is NEXT WEEK already. Wow!
Good Yule, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays, and Seasons Greetings to all!
TRAINING
The Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup met on Sunday, December 9 and Sunday, December 16. I did not attend either, as I had a Chiefs game on the 9th and I was sick on the 16th.
In fact, that's why I missed nearly a week of posts and I didn't do much training over the past couple of weeks. I've been fighting off an illness that is tough to get solved, and it's the kind of thing that wears you out pretty quickly. It is (slowly) getting better but I'm not quite there yet.
BLOGGERY
MONDAY (12/10): Filipino Martial Arts: Why We Don't Make the List
MONDAY (12/17): THAT GUY: The Dilettante
WEDNESDAY: Home on the Range
THURSDAY: I'm a LARPer (and I'm Okay)
Hook up with the Stick Chick Blog on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and MeWe, and hey, I've got a Pinterest board, and I post on Google Plus too, until Google puts it out of its misery.
Note: ANY links to the old blog published before 10/10/18 that you run across online are now broken. They're as gone fall seasonal beers.
OTHER NEATO BURRITO STUFF
This week was the birthday of the founder of Modern Arnis, Remy Presas. Check this out:
The Ropey-Whacksticks are now legal in New York, y'all: Federal court declares New York ban on nunchucks unconstitutional
I bet Gunchucks aren't legal there, though...
This is SO COOL.
Praying Mantis Kung Fu vs doggo.
I... have no words.
FRIDAY THOUGHTS
I got to see my Chiefs win and lose in the space of a week (the one I was really sick in, so that was fun). Two more regular season games and then the playoffs, the time period a Chiefs fan loves and fears.
My schedule is going to change big-time in January, and with it, my plans for training. Things are still kind of in flux regarding that, so I'll update you guys in a future Stick Chicktivity post.`
Have a wonderful holiday, everyone, and I'll see you next week.
