My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 10/02/20

IT'S OCTOBER! My favorite month of the year!

TRAINING:

Still rocking the sumbrada at the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup. We're at the point now where we're starting to introduce interrupts. In this case, we've started with disarms. We'll be working on this material for a while, and I gotta say, it's just SO MUCH FUN.

Monday was a Chiefs game, and in Kansas City, nothing much else happens while the Chiefs are playing, so the Elite Dragon class was short and small. I also introduced sumbrada there, but we have... not testing, really, we'll have examinations and review in October so I can formally assess where everyone is at.

THIS WEEKEND: (details HERE):

Here in Kansas City, we have this coming up in October (Learn more HERE):

And this in November. Learn more HERE.

BLOGGERY:

Wednesday: Joining the Club

Thursday: Under Pressure

Hey, if you see cool martial arts stuff - a great blog post or article, a neato video, a funny meme - send it my way, will ya?

Come and joins us on your favorite social media channel. I'm on MeWe, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram. It's gifting season, so why not deck out your favorite martial arts buddy with Stick Chick Blog gear? SHOP HERE

OTHER FUN STUFF:

My ninja friends are living in a golden age, apparently.

This one literally made me laugh out loud:

Speaking of Cobra Kai:

Leave it to Master Ken to help 2020 suck less.

FRIDAY THOUGHTS:

If you didn't read Wednesday's post, I got the results of my MRI. I have to have a total hip replacement in mid-November. Apparently, this surgery is ridiculously common in the martial arts world and to a person, everyone is saying that it's going to be great after I heal up.

So I'm not as scared as I was, and thanks to those of you who have kindly reached out to reassure me. I really, really do appreciate it.

On a brighter note, my beloved Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated. That won't last forever, but I'm going to enjoy it while it does!

Y'all stay safe, have fun, and keep training.
