Summer's almost over! HOORAY! Let's fire this up!
TRAINING:
Still having big-time shoulder issues, y'all, so what training I can actually do personally is quite limited.
The Elite Dragon Martial Arts Demo Team debuted their new demo set including Arnis for the first time on Saturday, and they rocked it. Hard to believe those kids had been introduced to Arnis very, very recently. They rocked it and represented us really well!
Sunday was the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup. We had a visitor, Guro Jason Briggs of the Blue Valley Giron Escrima visiting us (he's a super dude - if you're in his neck of the woods, check out his meetup HERE), and we played hubad-lubad. Started empty hand, worked the knife version, and ended with the double-stick version. Very fun, even if I had to take it really easy with the stoopid shoulder thing.
Monday I taught Presas Arnis at Elite Dragon. We had two more people join us in class, and we reviewed some basics I taught last class then worked on feeding drills and footwork drills. Everyone is catching on really fast and it was a fun class!
BLOGGERY:
Tuesday: Peace and the Martial Arts
Wednesday: DAMN YOU, MICROSOFT WINDOWS UPDATE!
Thursday: Living the Martial Arts Life
Social Media? YOU BETCHA! I'm on MeWe, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Pinterest. Please do join the group and participate over on MeWe, will ya?
OTHER FUN STUFF:
Y'all seemed to like this one on Facebook. Can't claim credit - I swiped it from Whistlekick because I liked it too:
It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a conundrum.
FRIDAY THOUGHTS:
Raise your hand if your NFL team is undefeated! *raises hand* Hope the Chiefs stay that way this Sunday. đ
We got us another Demo with Elite Dragon, another Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, and maybe I'll get lucky and my Older Daughter will make it back into town for the weekend from college. As usual, busy-busy.
Have fun, stay safe, and keep training!
