It's so HOT here in the northern hemisphere. I hope you're keeping cool!
At the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup we worked on unsupported blocking.
See, if you have two weapons - or you want to have your non-blocking hand doing something at the same time as your block - being able to block and block well with a single hand is important. So we worked on the proper mechanics of the unsupported block, mainly because I want to get the Meetup into some material that will require that later.
AND I'm happy to announce that Elite Dragon Martial Arts in Blue Springs, MO is having me out for a Presas Arnis Seminar! If you're in the area, you don't want to miss it. Come train with me! Facebook event HERE and Meetup HERE.
Thursday: Balancing the (Martial Arts) Force
OTHER FUN STUFF:
If you have pets and you're a martial artist and you HAVEN'T had a mock "Matrix"-style battle, I'm disappointed in you.
I shared this from someone else, and boy howdy, it seems to have struck a nerve. One of the most popular things I've ever shared to my Facebook page.
If you're on Facebook, click through to this link and watch this cool video. It's HEMA style sparring - but one participant has a special... ability. For some reason I can't embed this video, but trust me, it's worth your time.
Hoping to get some good training in this weekend, but we have family in, so I dunno what's going to happen. It's just one of those weeks. Ah well.
As for all y'all, keep training, have fun, and see you next week.
