What have you been up to this week?
THE WEEK DAY-BY-DAY:
Saturday: Got in three hours of kobudo practice, and an hour of Arnis. Man, that's more like it!
Sunday: Chores, grocery shopping, and avoiding the Texas heat.
Monday: Went to Arnis class at Hidden Sword. We worked on our defensive responses and did a bit of sinawali boxing drills.
Tuesday: Taught at Mid-Cities Arnis. Worked on kicks with our white belts.
Wednesday: My "day off" with younger daughter. Too hot to cook, and I went to bed early (ahhh, middle age - when going to bed early is something you plan and look forward to!)
Thursday: Classes at Mid-Cities Arnis. Worked on self defense techniques with our orange belts.
Friday: Stick sparring night at Mid-Cities Arnis and our second-to-last practice for a tournament coming up.
|Not taken this week - from earlier this year, but still, me beating up a child. :)|
Here's the new posts or reshared older posts I sent out this week:
Monday: Corrosion of Conformity
Tuesday: Self Defense: The Risk of Weapons
Wednesday: Weapons and the Newbie
Thursday: To the Point: What Fencing Teaches This Arnisadora
Friday: FACE-OFF FRIDAY: Martial Arts Videos on the Internet: Good or Bad Idea?
OTHER STUFF THAT I SAW/DID:
I'm not saying anything but... I'm juuuuusssst sayin'.
If you run across cool martial arts stuff you think I should see, please do post them in the comments!
FINAL THOUGHTS OF THE WEEK:
It's stupid hot in Texas. STUPID HOT. Oy.
Today I get to do a lot of kobudo practice, and I'm covering Arnis classes at Hidden Sword, so I think we'll be doing some bag work today. LOTS OF BAG WORK.
So what did YOU do this week? What did you train? What did you teach? Did you see any really cool martial arts stuff online? Let me know!
